Voices: Life as Lived in China

Learn about the trip National Geographic photographers Ami Vitale and John Stanmeyer’s took to China, to record everyday life as part of the National Geographic Learning Life as Lived Photographic Expedition.

The goal of the Life as Lived project is to commission content with which to illustrate the education materials we publish, enabling learners and educators to celebrate their own cultures and everyday lived experiences while also learning about those of others.

We are organizing similar expeditions around the world to ultimately create the most engaging photography and video archive in the field of education for its authenticity, respect for local culture, and global diversity.

This photo and video archive directly helps us achieve our missions of bringing the world to the classroom and the classroom to life.

National Geographic Learning’s mission is to bring the world to the classroom and the classroom to life. With our English language programs, students learn about their world by experiencing it. Through our partnerships with National Geographic and TED, they develop the language and skills they need to be successful global citizens and leaders.
